sokin's devotional 56 - troubled hearts, pray.
"Is any one of you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise."
James 5:13
---
Troubled hearts, turn to the Lord and pray. If you are a believer in the King of Kings and the Prince of Peace, then what else is there for you to do then to seek Him at His throne?
But of course, it is easier said than done. Often times, when we are most troubled, we do not want to pray. For some reason, prayer becomes the last things we actually want to do. We start to crowd our lives with other things to do, check lists and the like, so that our day becomes a jumbled mess of things that we accomplish but all it does is it gives us a false sense of purpose in life.
Our problems cause us to seek other things to fill up our hearts.
But be encouraged believer. He is waiting and is beckoning you closer. And although at times our troubles are so deep that we cannot bear to utter the right words and sometimes our troubles are so vast that we don't know where to begin..
Simply begin by crying out, "Father." And work from there. Trust that He knows already and come to Him not simply to get what you want but simply because you know that He is able to supply you with the peace which transcends all understanding.
Troubled hearts, pray.
