1. life as it is right now...
my life (for the past 3 months or so...)
1. gctc - its been about 3 months since ive been in cali, and i have about a month left in training. ive been learning lots and lots and lots, and have been broken and stretched lots and lots and lots. (i swear, i will get my newsletter out in teh coming week. IM SORRY!!)
2. commentaries - since ive been here, i suddenly got bit by the i-should-be-a-better-Christian-bug, and ive been eating up commentaries and stuff online. couple of the sites i visit on a frequent basis have been :
-the resurgence(theresurgence.com) - mark driscoll and co. site that strives to be a:
-thegospelcoalition.org - has lots of good insights and links from preachers and teachers.
-desiringgod.org - john piper. you know.
definatey recommend anyone to check out these sites! but, one thing struck me as i was reading up on all these sites and blogs, which brings me to #3...
3. bible - ...i needed to read my bible more. so essentially, ive been trying to read as much bible as i could in the past few weeks. mark driscoll asked his pastor which book/commentary he recommended and the pastor took his bible and said, "have you started with this one?"
so yeah. that pretty much sums up the same conviction i had.
4. soccer - the LA KCCC director here is absolutely bonkers, head-over-heels in love with the game of soccer. so much so that i ended up buying soccer cleats for myself so that i could run better on teh field. i havent gotten any better than i started out with and on top of that, you would expect me to lose some weight but i havent...
5/6. in-n-out /dduk bo ssam - i will definately miss these things when i go back to ny. i joke around with my gctc people here saying that im gonna franhise an in-n-out in the east coast and also open up a dduk bo ssam jip. they laugh and think im funny. im completely serious.
7. UCI - ministry in irvine has been an awesome learning experience, but also a humbling one. i realized that i have a lot to learn when it comes to connecting with new people. if you know me, you know im not very good at making first impressions. but thank God for the irvine guys and gals that i met cause they are much better at this thing called, "communication". -_-
8. flip-flops - the weather since ive been here has been consistently cool, but not too cold. warm, but not hot. in one word, perfect!
thats about it. now gotta go back to studying. till next time,
sokin.
