Be watchful

Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world. And after your have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.

The devil is constantly on the hunt/lookout on ways to deceive us. We are called to resist him, but we must remember that all this is accomplished through Christ, who calls us into glory and will restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish us. 

Lord, how easily I forget that to turn to you in the midst of temptation and sin. I ask for your favor to cover me and my family to flee from temptation, to be sober-minded in this day and age, and to be firm in our faith. Lord, I trust in you and your hand to accomplish this for us.
