"As they were walking along the road, a man said to Him, 'I will follow you wherever you go.'
Jesus replied, 'Foxes have holes and the birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.'
He said to another man, 'Follow me.' But the man replied, 'Lord, first let me go and bury my father.'
Jesus said to Him, 'Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and proclaim the kingdom of God.'
Still another said, 'I will follow you, Lord; but first let me go back and say goodbye to my family.'
Jesus replied, 'No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.'"
Luke 9:57-62

God desires all of your life. Not just a part.

The cost of following the Lord is a difficult one and by no means, easy. But, it also leads to great reward.

The great reward of knowing Jesus more and fellowship with Him. The great reward awaiting our destiny in Heaven. The great reward of knowing Jesus not just in His blessings, but in His sufferance.

But how hypocritical I am to say this, but so often I do not see this dynamic being lived out in my life.
I wonder if these three men responded by forsaking their excuse and following Jesus.
Everyone wants the blessing, but no one wants to pay for it.

God, help me to live my life to the fullest, seeking your glory to the fullest, experiencing all of life to its fullest while honoring You.
