"Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit in the desert, where for forty days he was tempted by the devil. He ate nothing during those days, and at the end of them He was hungry."
Luke 4:1,2

It's interested to note that it wasn't satan that came to Jesus, but rather, being filled with the Holy Spirit - Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert.
Sometimes, when we are at our most spiritually strongest, is when temptation may come and seize us. We must not be naive and think spiritual strength comes at no cost or testing. All stretching and growth can be painful and difficult, but we must endure it to be able to expand our capacities.
Important to note here is also that Jesus uses Scripture to fight against the temptations of satan. We have to remember that the Word is the sword of the Spirit (ephesians 6:17).
Our battles are made victorious only in the power of God. Read His Word and allow it to protect you against temptation.
