ephesians 4:22-24
"you were taught with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness."
--------------------
It is NOT biblical to say, "I'm a sinner, so its okay that I'm like this."

No, my friends, our fight needs to be a fight for holiness. We are called to put off our old selves which is deceitful, corrupted and longs for sin and flesh - and to put on the new self, which was bought at Christ's expense and blood and made possible by the Holy Spirit.

This new self was created to be like God. Be like God. Let that phrase marinate a little.

We are to strive after holiness that resembles God. Our old selves can't do that. Not even close. But by the transformative power of the Holy Spirit, we can. We wont BE God. But we can be LIKE Him in holiness and righteousness because of Christ.

Do not delay in this pursuit! (psalms 119:60) Rather, hasten. There is no reward for procrastination.
