maturity

For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works.
Titus 2:11-14

These days, I don't have much to say. (Or is it that I'm too lazy to process...?)

Nonetheless, what I do know is that the word of God oftentimes tells it to us plainly.

Like this passage for instance.

As Paul wrote this to Titus, he in effect is saying that the people of God should be well trained to deny ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, godly lives all the while awaiting Jesus's return, who initiated this work in us and freed us from our flesh and is making us zealous to live a holy life.

I love that phrase, "zealous for good works."

I see this as a mark of spiritual maturity. That those growing in depth of their faith would continue to be zealous for the sake of God and for the things of God.

Lord, renew my heart that I may live in this way..!
