the treasure worth everything

The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up. Then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.
Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls, who, on finding one pearl of great value, went and sold all that he had and bought it.
Matthew 13:44-46

One man found the treasure of heaven seemingly by chance, while another went searching for something like it, but discovered something of far more value.

In their joy, they gave up everything in order to have that treasure.

Finding Jesus, heaven's treasure, will prompt all who find it to rejoice and give up everything.

Yet, I don't. Many times, I still hold onto the things I want.

Perhaps it's because I haven't really seen Him as the treasure as He is. Maybe there's too much stuff clouding me from seeing and savoring Christ for who He is.

Lord, help me to see You for all that you are - the treasure. Worthy of all of me and my life, and still that wouldn't be sufficient. Help me to savor You above and beyond everything and everybody.
