Psalm 131

O Lord, my heart is not lifted up; my eyes are not raised too high; I do not occupy myself with things too great and too marvelous for me. But I have calmed and quieted my soul, like a weaned child with its mother; like a weaned child is my soul within me. O Israel, hope in the Lord from this time forth and forevermore.

---

Eyes and hearts not held too high are not proud. The simple presence of God is what calms and quiets our souls. Our hope can be placed on Him from the moment we wake up, to the moment we rest our heads on the pillow to sleep.

There are plenty of things that may cross our minds that we can rightly ask the Father, but there are moments when we need to learn to be still and rest in His presence. To not occupy ourselves with things that are far above our comprehension. We can trust in Him and find peace knowing that He knows, and we are graciously given access to simply lay rest at His feet.

Rest in Him today.
