As I was telling my youth group on Sunday, God did not create us to become mediocre beings, with "normal" and comfortable lives. He wants us to get our feet wet, to test the waters, to have power encounters in every sphere of life, be it healing, finances, career, marriage, parenthood, old age...
To live un-mediocre lives, we must sacrifice a few things. Sleep, being one of them. And every now and then, a heart attack situation while trying to achieve a dream - but every other time, your heart beats because it is alive.
I hear about so many people miserably trudging through their second puberty in their twenties and thirties, asking who am I? What am I supposed to be doing? And many choose the practical route, the route that seems tried and true. It's not a cop-out on their part, and I do not look down on them, but it feels sad looking at their situation. Obeying parents and having a steady income are all good things, but I find that God is most glorified when we are most satisfied in Him. He wants us to be joyful in His presence because we are sons, not slaves. To be alive even while we are on earth, because eternal life doesn't start when we die physically, but the moment we encounter Christ's love.
What scares you and excites you at the same time? Go chase that silly rabbit.
(Hope that got your brain tickled. God bless.)
