better to give than receive

In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.

Munching on this verse...how true it is.

Love how the kingdom of God is an "upside-down kingdom" (said by Tim Keller).
All the ways we are wired to be and inclined towards (due to our sin nature), are all reversed in the way God sees things.

We are naturally selfish, unwilling to die to self, and yet..

we find greater satisfaction and joy ironically, when we give out than receive!

(side note)
This is one (of many) instances where we see that the bible is inerrant but it does not answer every question that we may have!

This saying of Jesus is not recorded in any of the gospels, yet we can guess that this was a saying that was heard by witnesses of Jesus and it also coincides with many of his teachings.
