sokin's devotional 92 - new bodies

There are heavenly bodies and earthly bodies, but the glory of the heavenly is of one kind, and the glory of the earthly is of another. There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for the star differs from star in glory.
So is it with the resurrection of the dead. What is sown is perishable; what is raised is imperishable. It is sown in dishonor; it is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness; it is raised in power. It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. if there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body.
1 Corinthians 15:40-44

---

The resurrection of Christ is the culmination of the truth that sin has been defeated and death has lost it's sting. That Jesus stands as conqueror over sin and death and it no longer has a grip on us.

It in turn then reveals that we too, will one day resurrect just as Christ did.

This means that we will have resurrected bodies. Unlike our earthly bodies which does have a glory of its own (that we must steward and keep well), we will bear heavenly bodies that has a glory that eclipses the one here on earth. It is like the difference between the glory of a common moon next to the glory of a wondrous star like our sun.

The body we leave on earth is perishable; the body we will resurrect in will be imperishable.

The body we have here is weak; the body that will be raised will have power.

This means that my mom, has a new body in heaven. She could not move or run or walk in her last days.

Right now, I imagine she is running and laughing with Jesus.
