anchored

We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain, where Jesus has gone as a forerunner on our behalf, having become a high priest forever after the order of Melchizedek.
Hebrews 6:19-20

---

when the floodwaters rage and the tempests roar in your life, and you find your boat crashing against the waves, will your anchor hold?

what is the anchor of your life? what is holding your boat steady in the midst of the crashing waves?

is your anchor yourself? is your anchor the hope you have in your future security? is your hope other people? fame? fortune? sheer luck?

or is you hope, the anchor of your life and soul Christ, Himself? surely, He is a certain anchor that will withstand all raging seas! He, who bore all our sin and shame, He who for a moment took hold of our sins upon His shoulders and died for it..

He who was forsaken by the Father but for a moment, so that we might become reconciled with God and bring glory to His name...surely, He is an anchor for our soul which will stand the test of time.

this is not a trite statement or comment. this truth i share, is not fully embedded in my heart and soul just yet, either. But what i do know is that this truth is truth indeed - that no matter what prognosis or diagnosis or difficulty or failures or death, sickness, heartache and disappoint may come in my life... my heart and soul screams out for Jesus and deep down inside i know this is true.

i may not feel it completely in my heart yet, but i pray that the Holy Spirit would implant this truth from my head into my heart.

Jesus Christ, our great anchor for our soul, will always hold.
