carl henry speaking on the inspiration and authority of Scripture:

"Revelation is God's gracious self disclosure whereby He forfeits his own personal privacy so that his sinful creatures could know Him."

what is the word that describes the feeling you have when you are so thankful for the mercy of someone so great?

the image i have in my mind is a person laying prostrate, weeping before God, so wrought with feelings of guilt and shame and love and gratitude because a God so great has given so much through the person of Jesus and also the giving of God's Word at the expense of His privacy. he didn't need to do these things, but he did.

whats the word that describes how the man feels in this scenario? its a mixture of all these emotions.

the word is on the tip of my tongue but it escapes me.
